Ministerial
Relations
Committee for the Senior Minister
The Ministerial Relations Committee is comprised of five members who meet with
Frank Hall on a monthly basis.
The purpose of the committee is to help Frank process, in a supportive atmosphere,
any concerns that he and/or church members might have. Open discussion promotes
free exchange of ideas and viewpoints. Differences within our community are sensitively
addressed so that connections are strengthened.
Ultimately, we serve as sounding board for Frank so that he may minister at his
best. (The committee should be congratulated for Frank's outstanding work!)
Church members are invited to contact us if there is a concern or issue that
you would like the Committee to address.
Committee for the Minister of Music
This committee meets on an occasional basis to discuss issues that Ed experiences
in his ministry. It does not assume the responsibilities of the Music Committee.
While being supportive to Ed, it discusses issues that arise in a manner that
is confidential and sensitive.
This committee also welcomes you to contact them if you have concerns that
need to be addressed.
Committee for the Community Minister
Reverend Debra Haffner
On May 24, 2003, the Unitarian Church in westport ordained Debra W. Hafner as
a Unitarian Universalist minister and endorsed her as a community minister with
our congregation. Her ministerial relationships committee was formed in September
and has been meeting with her bimonthly on her role in our congregation. The
Reverend Hafner is the director of a national Organization, the Religious Institute
on Sexual Morality, Justice, and Healing and is on the faculty of two seminaries,
training seminarians in sexuality issues. She periodically assists in worship
at the UCW, writes a monthly column for Soundings, and will offer adult and youth
education. The members of the committee welcome any feedback to share with Reverend
Hafner.
Please contact the church office - at 227-7205 for current
information about committee chairs and program leaders.
