Summer
Services
"Do you know, the
first time we came to this church was in the summer, and we were so impressed
by the service that we knew we'd be back."
How many times have we heard similar comments from our members? It's true -
the summer services are impressive - dozens of members offering sermons and
poems and songs - offerings that broaden the scope of our church year and
that allow us to get to know one another in a more intimate worship setting
while our ministers have the summer away from the pulpit.
Lay leaders might be college students, a community minister, church committees
or YOU! A variety of musical offerings is supplied by our members, too, making
each week a unique treat.
Coffee hour (more like iced tea and muffins) follows the service, and
occasional potluck brunches are scheduled. A Trustee is on duty to greet people
and meet with the many newcomers each week.
Opportunity to get involved - The Summer Worship Committee welcomes
your input in soliciting lay leaders, musicians, developing themes for services
or arranging for hospitality and child care. It‚s the most rewarding
work!
Please contact the church office - at 227-7205 for current
information about committee chairs and program leaders.
